Roska 2 Album Launch (Chew the Fat, Rinse and VERSUS) Friday 4th May 2012 @ Cable

This weekend Roska announces the launch of his second album on Rinse by teaming up with Chew the Fat and Versus for the album launch. Possessing a sound that is percussion heavy and riddled with swagger, Roska’s hybrid of UKG and house and been one of the most refreshing outpours of the bass music sound. Mickey Pearce – Don’t Ask, Don’t Get

This is the shit. Heavy percussion, enough murky genre categorisations to satiate anyone purist enough to stick to techno, bass music or harsh electronica, and I bet it sounds immense on a decent system. You can imagine this going nuts everywhere from Berghain to DMZ. Mickey Pearce is on one again (his remix of Wiley and MJ Cole was fire , and while he might have picked his name from one of the worst characters in Only Fools in Horses, he’s picked his beats much better.

Props to Mr Paul and his Facebook posting to bring to my attention

Josh Clarke Mix

Found this mix on the popgoestheradio blog from Josh Clarke, rough and ready mix of house, hip-hip, some party classics and a bit more. There’s James Brown, Caribou, MJ Cole, Tribe Called Quest and oodles more.

Peep the full tracklisting here.

Maribou State – Olivia

Great new video for Maribou State, who as well as this track have done a pretty decent skittering rerub of Lauryn Hill’s classic r&b jam ‘Doo Wop‘. Follow the soundcloud link here for that gem.

If you’re down the London ends on Friday 10th Febuary you can check them out at Chew the Fat, where they join a bill boasting MJ Cole, Foamo and Hot City, with Brigton bass emporium Well Rounded hosting the second room. Event details here, flyer below
